Getting started, firstly, what does IrishDefib.ie cost?

Obviously there is no cost for the use of the forum or for subscribing to the newsletter.

There is also no cost for showing the locations of your AED's on the map with a photograph included. These are and will always be completely free to communities.

If you would like your own website, assistance with the management of your database of trainees, sending reminders of training updates and allowing them to book and pay for training online then the fees are as follows.

The management system will regularize your training dates and ensure your trainees receive their refresher training in a timely manner. This will ensure prompt, regular payments from your participants and from new candidates.

What does the system give you?

A Web Site

  • An immediate web presence with pages for news, images, sponsors and contact details of your committee.
  • Your home page shows a map of the location, access details and a location photograph of all of your AED’s.

Training

  • A dedicated training page for your programme
  • The page shows training dates and times and maximum numbers.
  • For each course, an advertisement is created for publication in the local press and radio.
  • Candidates can book and pay for training online. *
  • An email confirmation is sent to you with every booking made.

  • A database of names is created from bookings.
  • Your committee and trainees receive a bi-monthly newsletter covering national defibrillator and heart health news.
  • Trainees also receive timely reminders when training is about to expire.

*Pre payment will help to eliminate the problem of “no-shows” which a lot of communities have. It will also allow you to have certainty on numbers, venue size, refreshments and trainer numbers. It removes the need for reminder calls and texts and all but guarantees that candidates will cancel if unable to attend.

Because Heart Health and Sudden Cardiac Death are not local issues, IrishDefib will connect your programme to many others all over Ireland and make it a truly Public Access Programme. You can see how other programmes operate, ask questions and share knowledge and experience with other communities for the benefit of all Irish communities.
